LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION
As you can imagine we are all very busy preparing for our school production entitled Lights, Camera, Action. Due to great demand and the timetabling of the theatre at Calder High we are holding our performances on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th July. As you can imagine it is really important that the cast are present on both nights in order to guarantee the success of both evenings. We look forward to seeing you at the theatre and are sure a great time will be had by all!

Thank you for sending in the deposit for our trip to Bradford Photographic Museum and the Alhambra Theatre so promptly. We will travel by train and visit the museum in the morning and the theatre in the afternoon. The production is Doctor Dolittle. More details to follow nearer the trip date of 9th July.
CLASS 5 ASSEMBLY
Just a reminder that it is our assembly next Wednesday morning, 11th June at 9-10am in the school hall. Please come along if you can. If you came to Class 4’s wonderful assembly you will see that our assembly follows on the musical theme!
As you can see we have made our musical instruments. The design brief was to make a sturdy instrument which can be played more than one way, to produce more than one note. The children had great fun designing, making and playing their creations!

CLASS 5s DEBUT PERFORMANCE.
We are preparing to make our debut violin performance, to an audience, in our school assembly on Wednesday 11th June.
We hope that you will be able to come along. We feel sure that you will be very impressed!

This half term we are busy preparing for Optional S.A.T.s tests, revising basic skills and consolidating learning. Homework will reflect this and we appreciate your support here.
On a lighter side we are in the process of designing and making musical instruments and children may be coming home requesting that you save various items to include in their instruments.
With further reference to music, our weekly violin lessons are continuing during this term. The children are having great fun and making fantastic progress. Hopefully, later in the term, they will be ready to make their first public appearance to an audience- so watch this space!
